THESE are ‘tough times’, reflected council leader Aileen Morton as her administration faces up to a £27million budget gap and a looming decision on what services to save and cut next Thursday.
The ‘extremely challenging financial position’ will also be felt in Argyll’s health and social care services, which reported a £10m shortfall for 2018/19 and warned of more ‘diffi- cult decisions’ to come at the end of March.
But this stands in huge contrast to the generosity shown by kind people in Argyll and as far as America, fundraising and donating hundreds of thousands for the families of the Nancy Glen’s two missing fishermen, Duncan MacDougall and Przemek Krawczyk.
