THE DATE of Lochgilphead’s Armed Forces Day has been announced as Saturday June 10, when the Royal Regiment of Scotland’s mascot Cruachan IV will lead the parade.
The event, billed as the only Armed Forces Day in Argyll and Bute, starts at noon with a street parade of veterans, serving personnel and cadets, led by the seven-year-old black Shetland pony and Balaklava Pipe Band of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Association.
Members of the Royal Regiment of Scotland from the Highlanders, 4th Battalion and 51st Highland, 7th Battalion will also be in attendance.
