Shedding some light on council work delays

DELAYS to road and street repairs in the Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands area have been higher than expected in recent months.

From October to December last year, the number of street lighting faults repaired on time was down by 33 per cent when compared to Argyll and Bute Council targets, while there was a 27 per cent decrease in road defect repairs be ing delivered on time. Though there was little questioning of the figures by councillors at the meeting, the Advertiser later posed questions to the local authority.
