A WORKSHOP in Lochgilphead next week will offer advice to any community group offering short breaks to disabled children and their families.
The Scottish Government Better Breaks Fund is open to third sector organisations who can apply for up to £50,000 for projects that provide imaginative and effective short breaks for disabled children and young people and their families in Scotland.
Better Breaks aims to improve the choice and availability of short break opportunities for disabled children and young people, particularly those with multiple support needs. The fund is intended to develop short break opportunities that families can enjoy together, or which allow parents and siblings to have time away from their caring responsibilities. Shared Care Scotland administers the fund on behalf of Scottish Government and it will be holding a free information session in Lochgilphead Parish Church at 10am on Monday October 31.
