The Design and Make Challenge had more than 20 entries for the competition which takes place at the Arran High School today (Saturday), taking the first prize payout to £500.
The challenge, which is in its second year, sets out an engineering task to design and create and test against other entrants, in an effort to encourage the youth to get interested in engineering. All of the entries this year were from primary schools and, despite also being open to adults, no entries were received in that category.
The competition will take place at Arran High School at 10am and will be judged by organisers of the competition Rory Cowan and Donald Mc-Nicol.
