Dinghy sailors are being warned to make sure someone on shore knows of their plans when they make an open water crossing after a multi-agency search in the Firth of Clyde.
The search was sparked last weekend after two sailing dinghies were reported missing from Prestwick.
The Arran RNLI in-shore lifeboat Rachel Hedderwick launched at 3.50am on Sunday joining search teams from Troon and Girvan RNLI, Ardrossan and Arran Coastguard Rescue Teams and Rescue 199 Search and Rescue helicopter.
