Storms bring disruption

Storms over Christmas brought widespread travel disruption to the Arran ferry service.

The arrival of Storm Barbara and the breakdown of a mooring winch saw ferries disrupted from last Thursday for people trying to get away for Christmas or to their families on the island.

A break in the weather saw ferries sailing later on Friday and there were some sailings on Christmas Eve but the boat was tied up on Christmas Day in Brodick instead of Ardrossan.
