DESIREE HENRY says the start of the 2016 season has been a “dream come true” for her.
The 20-year-old sits on top of the UK rankings for the 100m after running a personal best of 11.06 in April, and the Rana Reidercoached sprinter has followed that up since with 11.07 at the recent Birmingham Diamond League.

Living the dream: Desiree Henry
Henry, who ran 11.15 in Rome, said after the race: “In years past, even last year I would have dreamed to be able to run that kind of time early before the trials, given my injury last year. I’m extremely happy with how things are going.
“It’s one thing saying to yourself go and compete with these girls but to actually believe that I can win is a great feeling for myself. To be able to execute like I did today and not come last, I’m extremely happy.”
