STEVE ROE INTERVIEWS GB’S FASTEST JUNIOR 800M MAN IN 2016

DANIEL ROWDEN believes his status among UK 800m runners owes much to the British Milers’ Club.

It was in a BMC race last May that Daniel set his two-lap PB of 1:48.13 and thus ran the quickest by an under-20 in Britain during 2016.

“There is always a great atmosphere in their races,“ he says. “Everything is well organised and obviously you’re up against high-quality opponents.”

The other distance principally raced at BMC events is over 1500m, but we will not see Daniel in one of those. “No!” he says, laughing at the thought before explaining:

“My strength is my speed and not my endurance – yet.”
