Adam Gemili (centre): beats Dan Talbot (far left)
ADAM GEMILI says he will head into the Olympics aiming for a medal after his national victory in 20.44 secured selection.
It was his second qualification performance whereas runner-up Danny Talbot followed him on to the team in achieving his sixth with 20.46.
Reece Prescod was the surprise bronze medallist in 20.84, a time he shared with Zharnel Hughes who was a long way short of his PB of 20.01. The man who was fifth in last year’s World Championships has failed to find top form this season and looks almost certain to lose out on the third spot to this year’s revelation of the event, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, who has run 19.95 but pulled out just before the event citing injury.
