Flying into LAX, the largest airport in California, you’ll be joining around 75 million other passengers who arrive and depart from this iconic airport every year. Aside from invoking Rachel Stevens’ iconic debut single (we’re still fuming her solo career was so short-lived), it’s just 15 miles from the centre of LA, and there are plenty of ways to continue your journey. Taxis should cost around $40, or you can catch a bus for a fraction of the cost. There are around a dozen car rental companies on site, too.
There are nine terminals in total — so make sure you head back to the right one for your departure flight! If your flight’s early, you might want to look into booking a nearby hotel that offers a free shuttle transfer service to and from the terminal buildings. Beware, though, that there are no 24-hour eateries, so bring supplies or some dollars for the vending machines.
