Climate change is already wreaking havoc on planet Earth. We know this from the floods and the fires; from the freak storms and the droughts. We know it’s a leading cause of the world’s sixth mass extinction of species; that it’s creating devastation in ecosystems around the world; that it’s forcing animals to change their survival tactics and rapidly adapt to this new way of living.
We also already know that climate change is affecting the lives of humans in more ways than we are yet aware of. Drought leads to crop failure, which in turn leads to famine. Heavy flooding leads to the destruction of people’s homes and livelihoods. Rising sea levels lead to the salination of water supplies, leaving people without clean drinking water. The impacts of the climate crisis on human beings are widespread, varied, and not yet all accounted for.
