I’ve been an environmental educator and meditation teacher for 25 years combined, so I wanted to use my platform to share my experiences and stories in order to bring more attention to our disconnections around the environment. In particular, I focus on waste, overconsumption and the lack of attentiveness in our current society. My website (spaceandpause.com) is where my community can get to know me a little better, share in my art, participate in my online mindfulness guide, listen to free monthly audio practices, and be in touch.
My work is focused around building better relationships between ourselves and the biosphere, so within that we have to learn to be more mindful and widen our understanding of what it means to be a constant participant of our planet. I facilitate this bio-mindful head space through art, writing, mindfulness practices, meditation, and action. I believe one of our biggest issues is how little attention we pay to just about everything around us and we don’t realise it, either. I hope through my work I can reconnect the disconnections to our creative life, relationships within our every day, and ultimately how we respect and protect the biosphere. I share a combination of what it means to be attentive – both in our personal lives and within the context of sustainability. There is a focus on reshaping our attitudes with the waste we make – showing that our interaction with the biosphere is linked to how we value it.
