The 2023 Topps Baseball Rookie Card lineup kicked off in a big way with the release of Series 1. More than 50 players have the RC shield in the base set including more than a dozen first round picks.
Even looking beyond the first rounders, it’s a deep crop of solid names. Reigning National League Rookie of the Year, Michael Harris II is one of the top 2023 Topps Baseball Rookie Cards. Others with the RC logo badge include Gunnar Henderson, Riley Greene, Adley Rutschman (who also has a base card in 2021 Bowman’s Best), Christopher Morel, Gabriel Moreno, Bret Baty and JJ Bleday.
These won’t be the players’ most valuable Rookie Cards by the time the 2023 baseball card season comes to a close. They definitely won’t be the rarest, either. But there’s a strong sense of tradition that makes these popular. Value aside, many consider Topps Baseball Rookie Cards to be the RC for any given player.
