It hasn’t taken long for Pete Alonso to take a bite out of the Big Apple. After making the team out of spring training, he got off to a hot start — and not just by first-year standards. For example, Alonso set the Mets record for rookie home runs — getting the mark before the All-Star Game. In the first half of 2019, he wasn’t just one of baseball’s best rookies, Alonso was one of baseball best players, period. Now, it’s time for the Pete Alonso Rookie Card lineup to take shape.
That said, it’s not like he has a shortage of cards. Even before playing in his first game with the Mets, Alonso had hundreds of minor league and prospect cards. These date back to 2016, not long after New York took him in the second round of the draft.
