Tuning up for MOK Fest

AS FOLK festival fever gripped Scotland in 1992, the idea of a Mull of Kintyre Music Festival started to gain traction in the thoughts of local music enthusiasts.

This year, the MOK Fest will celebrate its 25th anniversary with another mega line up promised. To support the build up to this year’s event, the Courier will reprise all 24 posters from past festivals to help market the anniversary event.

Original committee member, Iain Johnson, told the Courier about the early days and how an inaugural meeting at the Argyll Hotel in late 1992 was packed with publicans, hoteliers, musicians, bands and interested members of the public.
