A former army captain led a troop of current and retired servicemen in remembering West Kintyre’s Great War fallen.
Captain Elizabeth Ball, 62, orchestrated a week-long programme of events in Clachan’s Kilcalmonell Church to commemorate the sacrifices made by men of Clachan, Glenbarr and Gigha in the First World War.
On Tuesday, the names of some of those who died were read out by Flying Officer David Robertson RAF, after which army reservist Colour Sergeant Robbie Semple read poems by First World War poets William Noel Hodgson and Geoffrey Anketell Studdert Kennedy.
