Campaign to livestream council meetings

A PLAN to livestream Argyll and Bute council meetings on the web is backed by 14 councillors.

Kintyre’s Donald Kelly and John Armour have both put their weight behind a petition, organised by SNP Oban councillor Julie McKenzie, which up to Tuesday had attracted 852 signatures.

The Argyll and Bute Council SNP group’s 2017 manifesto for change pledged: ‘To broadcast all council and committee meetings, opening the council’s decision-making processes to democratic scrutiny.’
