A FARMER who was ‘eyeing up the talent’ at a Campbeltown ceilidh spotted his future wife, Jean, who has stood by his side for 60 years.

Back in the early 1950s, Jimmy Armour was in his 20s when his next door neighbour, farmer John McKay, suggested going to a ceilidh at the town hall.

Jimmy, 88, said: ‘We were eyeing up the talent and I thought I’d ask this young girl for a dance.
