A FORMER engineer has returned home to Campbeltown to set up his own electrical business. Paul McWhirter, 34, has significant experience working as an electrical engineer within the oil and gas sector in Aberdeen, and BAE Systems in Glasgow.

A combination of the decline of the oil and gas industry, alongside a desire to relocate back to Campbeltown to raise his family, led him to set up Paul McWhirter Electrical earlier this year, with help from Business Gateway Argyll and Bute,
