I thank Mike McGeachy (letters, October 7), for conceding my point that in total Scotland has paid more into the UK exchequer over the past 33 years than we have had back.
His quibble is that in some years, the fallow years, we got more back than we put in and in others, the bountiful years, we put more in than we got back. But he accepts the point that overall we’re net contributors, not beneficiaries.
