Top juinior piping talent in Kintyre

YOUNG pipers won plenty of silverware at the Kintyre Piping Society (KPS) Junior Championship.

The event was held in the Ardshiel and Sea field hotels, Campbeltown, last Saturday.

The under-15 overall champion was Hazel Whyte from Larkhall, who won the PM Ronald McCallum MBE shield and the Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society Bronze Star.

The 15 to 17 overall champion was Andrew Ferguson from Dollar. He won the McCallum Memorial cup and the PM John D Burgess medal.
