A PIER constructed when Dalintober was a village separated from Campbeltown by the sea has caused waves among experts of Kintyre’s history.
Back in August, the volunteer leader of a Campbeltown Heritage Trail Group free historic walking tour said that Dalintober’s pier was built so its fishermen could avoid paying the landing fees at Campbeltown’s Old Quay, which had more than 450 registered fishing boats at its peak.
