THE DOYENNE of Scottish amateur golf selected her best putter to open a charity event. Belle Robertson, 80, played the first ball at Grammar Lodge’s nine-hole putting competition last Sunday to raise funds for Campbeltown Christmas lights.
Unfortunately, the champion, who has represented Great Britain and Ireland nine times in the Curtis Cup, failed to ace the hole.
