DESPITE calls from a Campbeltown councillor for safer road crossings, the national transport agency of Scotland does not plan to make any changes.
Councillor Donald Kelly, who wrote a letter to Scottish Transport with his concerns, said: ‘I have been campaigning for a number of years for proper crossings at a number of locations throughout Aqualibrium Avenue and Kinloch Road.’
In response to Councillor Kelly’s correspondence about the A83, which received trunk status in August 2014, Transport Scotland said: ‘The road was realigned for the transportation of wind turbine components and the location of crossing points were identi`d as being the safest locations for pedestrians to cross.
