A SPATE of vandalisms is causing a stink in Tayinloan as the toilets at the ferry, which are open 24 hours a day, have been damaged eight times in the past two years, most recently during the Easter break, when the chain on the high cistern of the men’s toilet was broken.
In the 48 hours it took for the contractor to attend, the cistern arm and toilet seat had also been broken and rubbish had been deposited in the bowl.
West Kintyre Community Council (WKCC), which took over the running of the councilowned building in May 2015, is urging residents and visitors in the area to be on the lookout for any destructive behaviour and to report any vandals to the police.
