Sir, The grass-cutting season is again upon us and, for the third year in succession, this process leaves the Quarry Green in an absolute mess. This area has had two cuts and mounds of grass are everywhere, including over the paths.
Long deep gouges have been taken out of the green in front of the railway cutting, but it is the mounds of grass left behind that are the main problem.
Not only are they unsightly, but after a time they begin to rot and to stink.
