Every year, the annual Arran Malt & Music Festival is held in the grounds of the Isle of Arran Distillery in Lochranza. This year it will take place from Friday 30th June – Sunday 2nd July.
The weekend has become an important date in the calendar for whisky and Arran enthusiasts, bringing together some of the best island food producers, local musicians and bands from the mainland in a celebration of all things Malt and Music! On Saturday 1st July, the festival starts at 11am and features whisky master classes where you have the opportunity to get really involved with the people who make the whisky and hear about their experiences in the industry. This year there will also be the opportunity to take part in a whisky cocktail master class with bartenders from the Edinburgh Bon Vivant Bar and the opportunity to purchase rarely available limited expressions of The Arran Single Malt Whisky by the dram.
Their annual special Festival Single Malt Release will be available to purchase on the day – a small batch bottling which is chosen each year by the participants of their Ultimate Masterclass. The festivities are set to continue long into the evening with a celebratory ceilidh led by popular band ‘Skippinish’. Entry to the festival Saturday 11am – 5pm is free. Masterclass and Saturday evening ceilidh tickets can be purchased from www.arranevents.com.
