A CAMPBELTOWN Sheriff Court trial collapsed after a 14-yearold witness gave conflicting evidence.
Daniel McKee, 18, of 21C Albyn Avenue, Campbeltown, was charged with having an offensive weapon, namely a screwdriver, on June 24 this year, and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, acting in an aggressive manner and uttering a threat of violence towards a 14-year-old boy at the Hub, Kinloch Road.
Appearing as a witness and speaking from behind a screen, the 14-year-old boy was asked by the procurator fiscal depute Eoin McGinty if he himself had a knife on him at the time. He repeatedly said he did not.
