Stronvaar bowls hold a fab fete

A BOWLER who has just rolled to her ninth national final opened Campbeltown Bowling Club’s annual fete.

Shirley Bannatyne opened the event which has been a fixture in the Stronvaar cal endar, on the first Saturday of Glasgow Fair, for more than 60 years.

Miss Bannatyne has a remarkable record of success, with 15 ladies’ championships dating from 199. She is also heading for her ninth appearance at Ayr Northfield later this month.
