WHILE everyone, apart from rival bidders Serco, celebrated the award of the west coast ferry contract to CalMac at the end of last week, the company has a long way to go to rebuild trust in the operator in Kintyre.
Another weekend of cancellations and missed plans has further increased the level of distrust and scepticism around the reasons given for the Campbeltown ferry being cancelled.
Worst of all were reports of the MV Isle of Arran running on Friday night to its island namesake, despite the weather having been deemed too treacherous earlier to allow the service to runn to Campbeltown.
