A TENNIS cup first played for in 1919 and named after an ungainly Australian mammal will be engraved with another set of names.
The HMS Platypus trophy, for mixed doubles, was donated to Campbeltown tennis club in 1918 by the crew of the depot ship, of the same name, built two years previously for the First World War.
Last Thursday Jane Gallagher and her partner Jamie Morris, one of five competing pairs playing just one set against each other partnership, smashed the opposition scoring eight points to win the trophy.
