THE PLAQUE and cairn commemorating the Quesada disaster has now passed planning.
The monument pays respect to those who were lost when the Quesada sank, and the rescuers who saved the survivors from certain death, on the 50th anniversary of the boat’s sinking.
Willie MacCallum, whose father was lost in the tragedy, set the memorial in motion and has raised more than £2,700 towards it.
