Final Fantasy VII Remake
Talking of amazing looking remakes (thanks Resi 2) we can throw the upcoming Final Fantasy VII straight into the mix. The game is looking like the original on steroids, with a massive graphical overhaul, new combat system and an even bigger world to explore. Obviously it’s still full of your favourite places and people, so you can still hopefully play that janky snowboarding game or defend a giant egg using a bizarre real time strategy system. The biggest caveat of course is the fact that it’s only the first chunk of the overall experience, with Square still being cagey about just how many episodes will make up the whole game. Speculation is rife that the first section will purely cover Midgar, though at this point most fans are just keen to play anything, and it might be hard to stomach another multiyear wait once you see the words To Be Continued flash on screen. Still it’s hard not to get excited considering how great one of the most beloved games of all time is looking after all of this care and attention.
