Classic Massey  |  Classic Massey June 2013
Hello and welcome to the June
issue of Classic Massey &
Ferguson enthusiast. It’s not
nice to kick things off on a sad
note, but I have to announce with regret
that this will be the last monthly copy of
CM&Fe, as the magazine is reverting to a
bi-monthly frequency.
Fear not though, as subscribers will
receive the exact number of issues they
have paid for and the CM&Fe team will be
working just as hard to bring you stories
from the world of Ferguson and MF.
The remainder of 2013 will see the next
magazine, the July/August issue, on sale
in the shops on 21 June and delivered
to subscribers a couple of days before,
followed in the shops by the September/
October issue on 16 August and the
November/December issue on 18 October.
As I said, we are as committed as ever
to producing a great magazine and rely on
your desire to share your tractors with us
and tip us off about stories that may be of
interest. I’d like to thank you in advance
for your continued support.
Now on to a happier topic, the theme for
this issue – young restorers. We’ve toyed
with the idea of showcasing the talents of
enthusiastic under-25s for some time, but
a recent influx of restorations prompted us
to put the wheels in motion sooner, rather
than later.
Collecting and working old tractors is,
I’m told, traditionally thought of as a hobby
for dads and granddads, but there’s a large
proportion of enthusiasts that are aged
between 10 and 25, so we thought we’d
pick three popular models that have been
the subject of a restoration by individuals
from this age group.
Admittedly, not all of them have gone
it alone, but they’ve all had the grit and
determination to take on a project in the
first place and we should doff our caps
to them for doing so. As we all know, restoring a tractor is no mean feat and as
these young guys and girls are the future
of our hobby, we need to give them as
much encouragement as we possibly can.
