The stunning 420-page book Depeche Mode: Monument amasses a vast collection of memorabilia, rare artefacts, interviews, artwork and photographs from the band’s career, beginning from their formation in Basildon and carrying through all the way to the present day. It’s lavish, exhaustive, detailed, and hugely impressive. “The book is the result of 25 years of collecting items that have something to do with Depeche Mode, plus five years of research, and one year of production,” says Sascha Lange. “Since the end of the 1980s, Dennis has been collecting not only vinyl but also press releases, info sheets about new releases, posters, concert tickets, promo material – everything you can imagine. There are currently 10,000 items of memorabilia. It’s become more than a collection, more like an archive… ”
