Stock, Aitken and Waterman arrived just as I was awakening to the world of music. Fixated on Top Of The Pops, I played my part in the making of SAW’s hits - and their millions.
It was a period that meant a great deal to all my friends. We were breaking away for the first time in our lives, finding our feet with the help of tubs of fluoroblue hair gel, Soda Streams, and our beloved Walkmans (and Molly Ringwald). And, as such, for almost all of us - well, the ones that didn’t opt for hair metal - SAW provided that all-important first 45. Be it Mel & Kim, Kylie, Bananarama, Jason Donovan, Hazell Dean or Rick Astley, SAW were on the first page of that particular book for an entire generation.
