Classic.Retro.Modern. Magazine  |  July 2022
Issue 12 has got a sensible four-door saloon on the front cover. A sensible four-door saloon with a massive rear wing and a rabid 2.2-litre VTEC engine under the bonnet. Our deputy editor always wanted to put a Honda Accord Type-R on the cover, so we’ve done just that. Anything to shut him up. Fortunately, Simon Thompson took some cracking photos of the car; we think the subscriber cover could be the best one to date. Enjoy the pictures and endure Gavin’s words.
Elsewhere, Darren Walker’s letter from America is a real treat, but you might need to prepare yourself for the sight of Ivan Katz’s magnificent Citroën CX Estate Wagon. Sam Glover talks about his classic rallying urges, while Richard Dredge chats with James Noble, the man behind the UK’s biggest free celebration of all things motoring.
Carl Saunders tells us what it’s like to live with a TVR Tuscan S, Gavin introduces a new, and surprisingly German, member of the fleet, while Merc Carmode discusses the cult movie, The Cars That Ate Paris.
You’ll almost certainly enjoy Steve Carter’s words on the record-breaking Rover Tomcats, not to mention Richard’s piece on Mark Suddaby’s glorious Lotus Esprit. The Rover 75 and MG ZT are the subject of this month’s Ultimate Guide, while Gavin asks if the Aston Martin Cygnet is a future classic. Don’t listen to anything he says, because his latest guilty pleasure is the Proton Savvy.
