Haley Grant (guitar, vocals) and Kaylee Jasperson (bass, harmonies) not only share phonetically similar names and a love of beautiful harmonies and melodic hooks—they are also in a relationship, which turns out to be both a blessing and a challenge when taking their music on the road.
“We both went to school at Belmont University here in Nashville and we were both in music,” Jasperson says. “Haley came up and said, ‘I want to start a band and I need a bass player’ and I was like ‘Yeah.’ I had recently come out and we had a lot of similarities and mutual music influences. There would be these awkward sideways glances during rehearsals and she ended her other relationship and very soon after we were together.”
