DANZA&DANZA International  |  MayJune
There is a big personality in the May/June issue interviewed in Milan. William Forsythe at La Scala with a new creation and titles from his most recent “Blake Works” project enlightens us on the infinite potential of the language of ballet; the joy of rule and their wonderful exceptions. Besides, two well-know Principals dancer, Tiler Peck and Alice Mariani, talk about how amazing it is always to work with him.
Victor Caixeta is the new Principal Dancer of the Dutch National Ballet. The Brazilian artist, among the few foreigners to have been part of the Mariinsky Ballet, left Russia when the war broke out. We met him.
Conceived at the time of the French Revolution, La Fille mal gardée is the longest-running ballet to be passed down through the ages and continues to appeal to audiences today. It has recently been brought back to the stage by a number of ensembles.
Elsewhere in the magazine we reviews many world premieres and revival from Paris, London, Rome, Milan, Vienna, Geneva.
