I have to agree with Kathy Slack [Dec 2017, p170] that a kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house. This year we spent Christmas in Spain, in our caravan with just a small cooker in the corner. Most people nearby went to a local restaurant for their Christmas meal, but my husband loves his turkey, so we cooked our usual festive (albeit scaled down) lunch. I enjoy eating out, but I’d hate to see the kitchen go. I hope there are many like me who will keep on cooking – whatever the size of their kitchen.
