MY LIFE ON A PLATE

INTERVIEW: KERRY FOWLER.
MY INSPIRATION My love affair with food was sparked at an early age by my Greek grandmother’s simple, earthy cooking. Tragically my grandparents were killed in a car accident when I was 14, but I still remember her avgolemono chicken soup, thickened with egg yolks and flavoured with lemon and wild oregano. It was ambrosia.

SHARE AND ENJOY Mum was great at one-pot roasts. She was a single mum bringing up four children and I was the eldest, so I’d come home from school and help in the kitchen. Now my cast-iron pot at home is indispensable. I love having it in the middle of the table and everybody helping themselves. I think it’s important my boys see that way of sharing.
