Subject: Batch-cooking benefits From: Jo Branston I enjoy Debora Robertson’s articles and I’m sure pots were overturned at her anti-batcher stance [April, p36], but some of us don’t have a choice! My nine-year-old son has Williams syndrome and an autism diagnosis that physically and mentally dictate his diet. He doesn’t chew, so needs semi-puréed food with an easy-toswallow portion of carbs. Not an easy menu to deliver spontaneously so, once a month, out come the big pans and blender, then the peeling, chopping and simmering begin.
