An extra-mature cheese shop
To mark its 225th birthday, famous cheesemonger Paxton & Whitfield is asking the public to share recollections of the shop, which began as a cheese stall in London’s Aldwych. The company’s archive was destroyed by fire after World War Two, but the anniversary project hopes to crowdsource a chronicle of its history. Customers are invited to email photos and stories of the cheesemonger to history@paxtonandwhitfield.co.uk. For every story published on the website, a tree will be planted. paxtonandwhitfield.co.uk
