Teals: food worth making a detour for
PUMPKIN STATISTICS: 2016 RESEARCH BY UNILEVER AND HUBBUB
…with the launch of two new ventures. Opening this autumn, roadside food market Teals (teals.co.uk) is positioned just off the A303’s North/ South Cadbury junction near Yeovil in Somerset and promises to showcase the best of the region for local shoppers and day trippers alike, with added eco-friendly credentials (renewable energy, a surplus food plan and electric car-charging points). The deli, butchers, bottle shop and cheesemongers will feature locally sourced produce alongside artisan treats from further afield. A restaurant will offer meals made from the same local larder, plus orchard views, outside courtyard seating and food to go - a winning combination.
Won’t be down that way?
Wells Food Festival goes online this year (with help from Charlie Bigham’s, maker of upmarket ready meals). Visit wellsfoodfestival. bighams.com on the 10-11 October to discover 150 local producers to order from, plus demos, competitions, live streamed music, drawing classes and more.
