Letter from the Editor

Jane Czyzselska

DIVA DICTUM

We often get messages from readers telling us they want to see more lesbian and bi women more of the time – whether that’s in films, TV shows or online, there’s a dearth of representation. The same is true of the advertising world, which is why we challenged top ad agencies to come up with an idea for a campaign aimed at you. Check out the winning entries and finalists on p46. We hope that the winners roll out more campaigns soon and that others follow their lead. One place we’re rarely short of a queer take is on Netflix prison drama, OITNB, and this month we begin our countdown to 17 June, when season four drops (p58). Next month we’ll be speaking to one of our favourite cast members too, so look out for that, to get your Orange fix. Talking of high-profile lady-lovers, we’re thrilled to be the first lez/ bi publication to run a cover feature with newly out bi TV star Marnie Simpson – yes, the one and only Geordie Shore leading lady. She told us the DIVA shoot was the best she’d ever been on, and she’s been on a few, and loved our crew and clothing. We think she looks fierce (p50). Finally, for those you who don’t yet have subscription to DIVA, go visit divasub.co.uk/DV240. With prices starting at £7.99 for 3 issues, make sure you don’t miss out. Find out more about our special offer on p10!
