For five Saturdays in the autumn of 2012 it was movie night.

For the benefit of any new fans who’ve got in under the wire in the last three-and-a-bit years, the idea was this: each new episode of Doctor Who was going to be like a Hollywood blockbuster with an appropriately attention-grabbing title. The most obvious example was Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, inspired in the vaguest possible sense by the Samuel L Jackson film Snakes on a Plane.
