First impressions count for a lot. A long time ago, when I was attending my first Doctor Who convention, I was thrilled to spot Nicholas Courtney across a crowded hall. Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, in the flesh! He seemed to be at a loose end, so I decided to go over and talk to him. I was a shy teenager so this required considerable courage.
