Feature by JOHN DORNEY
Many of Big Finish’s best Doctor Who productions are written by Robert Shearman, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that his strikingly original 2003 tale, Jubilee, is one of the Daleks’ strongest audio outings. Perfecting the ‘lone Dalek’ story so successfully that it was the inspiration for the Daleks’ first 21st-century screen appearance a couple of years later, this haunting script is consistently surprising and reminds us that we trivialise our demons at our peril. Sometimes they come back to haunt us.
