DINOSAURS ON A SPACESHIP

THE DOCTOR IS IN ANCIENT EGYPT IN 1334 BC.

He has just helped Queen Nefertiti to defend an attack from giant alien locusts when he receives a text alert on his mobile. Nefertiti insists on coming with him as he travels to the Indian Space Agency in 2367 AD. There they learn that a spaceship the size of Canada is fast approaching Earth. ISA commander Indira will be forced to destroy the ship with a missiles if it comes within 10,000 km of the planet.

Collecting big game hunter John Riddell from the African Plains in 1902, the Doctor’s next stop is the home of Amy Pond and Rory Williams, but materialising the TARDIS around his companions inadvertently brings Rory’s father Brian along too. Returning to the twenty-fourth century with his gang, the Doctor finds that the huge spaceship’s only inhabitants are dinosaurs from Earth’s Cretaceous period living in vast self-contained ecosystems.

About Doctor Who Magazine

“History sometimes gives us a terrible shock, and that is because we don’t quite fully understand... We’re all too small to realise its final pattern.” Doctor Who’s first journey in 1963 took viewers back to the Stone Age. Since then the TARDIS has visited many other landmarks in a unique chronicle of the Doctor’s favourite planet. Purely historical stories were once a mainstay of the series, but for more than 50 years significant periods in Earth’s past have provided evocative settings for more fantastical adventures. This unprecedented guide takes a trip back in time with the people, places and classic episodes that are essential parts of Doctor Who history.
